 Announcements for the week of

May 14th-18th

If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns don't hesitate to share!

My email is Beckwithld@scsk12.org

or you can text me.

End of the Year Testing- As we begin to wrap up our school year we have our final testing to prepare for. As this will be the last testing to assess their mastery of KK skills I will only be able to test one time. PLEASE review all 4th 9weeks skills with your child to make sure they are prepared. If you have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Homework Newsletter:  I apologize for not updating my newsletter, but after weeks of trying to figure out the problem we have figured out in an effort to make our technology better our district has blocked certain websites and one of them happens to be our website. We are trying to resolve this issue so  please be patient as we develop other consistent ways of communicating with you in these last few weeks. If you ever have any questions about what's going on, please don't hesitate to text me. Thank you in advance for your patience!

Teach Your Monster to Read:  I have recently learned of a new website I think your child will enjoy. It should not take the place of Smarty Ants or iReady but it can be used in addition to those just for fun. There is no password for you to use it and it is free if you use your home computer. I will send the address home today on a separate sheet of paper. Please let me know if you have any difficulty accessing it. Thank you!

End of the Year Parties:  Our last day is almost here! (Next Thursday,May 24th). I am asking all students to bring a sack lunch or lunch box and towel/blanket so that we can have a picnic outside. Students will spend the majority of the morning outside at the big playground. We will participate in fun activities with hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, etc. If you would like to donate any of these items or have other ideas please let me know ASAP. That afternoon we will rest and relax with a movie and hang out with friends. You are welcome to check your child out early. If you have any questions, please ask. Thanks!

Field Day: THANK YOU to all the parents who joined in to make field day great! We had a wonderful time and I REALLY appreciate all of your help. KK-01 parents rock!!!!

Field Trip: Finally!!! What you have all been waiting for! Our last field trip of the year is May 18th. We are going to Menagerie Farms. The cost of the trip is $15 exact cash only! Due: April 30th. Parents are welcome to attend and they are FREE! It is going to be very hot so please dress your child accordingly in their yellow field day t-shirt and comfortable shorts and shoes. No short, shorts please.

Share Day: We have moved share day again until Tuesday right after recess. That way it won't get lost on Fridays which are always so hectic anyway and we have time to remember . The students can share anything that can fit in their backpacks. Please make sure they are prepared to explain what they brought, why it is special to them, and any other details that might be interesting (ie: was it a gift, who bought it, who plays with you with it, etc). If you have any other specific questions, please let me know. Thank you!

Unfinished Work:  I will be sending home unfinished student work stapled together in their Bee Binders weekly. You are welcome to allow students to complete the work, but it is not necessary to return it to school. If your child has no stapled work that means they finished everything at school. YAY!! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Smarty Ants & iReady: Please make sure you are allowing students to get on these websites regularly to improve and practice their skills. If you have any questions or problems let me know. Thanks!

Box Tops: Please send in any box tops you may have at school. You can also enlist the help of friends and family members to donate box tops. This helps us to replace and purchase things for our classroom we desperately need. Thank you!
